HALLE

Originally built in 1602, the building was protected by a superb wooden frame covered with tiles and supported by stone pillars. The building threatened to collapse, so it was demolished and replaced by the current construction in 1904. The new hall was designed by the Cazèrien architect Hector d'Espouy, all in metal in the style of the time "glorified by Eiffel". The hall was decorated with two magnificent statues by the Cazèrien sculptor Frédéric Tourte "The Sower and Pomona" (1905) The Sower "on the North side" with the motto "if I give good wheat, give me good bread" - translation from the Occitan language. On the south side, Pomona, "goddess of fruits and garden" in her full nudity, which at the time, caused a scandal, because it was placed in front of the presbytery and at the exit of the church.
