« RESTAURATION EN COURS ! » - VISITES COMMENTÉES AUTOUR DU PONT DE FER DE LACROIX-FALGARDE
An event organized by the Archives and Cultural Heritage Department as part of the 2026 European Heritage Days.
_**Come discover the Lacroix-Falgarde iron bridge and the work carried out by the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council since June 2025! Built in 1902–1903 and inspired by Eiffel, it is one of the last remaining metal bridges in Haute-Garonne.**_
This is an opportunity to meet the professionals working to preserve it and to experiencea tour where heritage, history, and engineering come together to preserve this early 20th-century structure and make it accessible to residents once again. Let’s spread the word: upon its reopening, the bridge will be accessible to pedestrians and cyclists and connected to nearby bike paths!
Hosted by: Richard Bravard (project manager overseeing the restoration work), Virginie Ferval (archivist), Cynthia Bicheron (heritage project manager for the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council), Mathieu Orth (curator of the Confluence Garonne-Ariège Regional Nature Reserve) and Amine Baroudi (senior engineer, Baudin Chateauneuf).
