LES VIES DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE
%C0 To mark the bicentennial of the invention of photography, the Château d'Eau, the Paul Dupuy Museum, and the Georges-Labit Museum are joining forces to invite you to explore 200 years of exhibitions.
By combining their three collections, these Toulouse museums highlight three aspects of photography.
- Photography as a medium
Since its invention, photography has been defined as a medium of representation and expression. The visual vocabulary it creates is illustrated by a collection of photographs.
- Photography as images: between art and documentation
It is viewed as an art form in its own right and is compared to painting, drawing, or sculpture. By documenting fragments of the world, it helps preserve the history of photography from its invention to the present day.
