Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon is a French archipelago in North America located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, south of Newfoundland, with a population of 6,000. I was captivated by winter on the island
of Saint-Pierre. This little piece of France stands out from other overseas territories; there are no beaches or coconut palms, but colorful houses dot the entire archipelago.
Saint-Pierre had its heyday during the cod-fishing era; today, the port retains its charm on snowy days.
