Experience Sophie Adenot?s mission to the ISS!
Closely linked to the latest space news, the Cité de l'espace is constantly renewing its activities to help you discover and understand the major challenges of space exploration. In a few weeks' time, Sophie Adenot will take off on a nine-month mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS). 25 years after Claudie Haigneré, she is the second French woman to spend time on the ISS. To follow the progress of the ?psilon mission and learn all about the scientific experiments prepared by CNES, via Cadmos (Centre d?Aide au Développement des Activités en Micropesanteur et des Opérations Spatiales), which will be carried out by the French astronaut of the European Space Agency (ESA) on board the Space Station, the Cité de l?espace is offering this new exhibition.
The exhibition plunges you into the daily life of astronaut Sophie Adenot, offering an immersive and educational experience. You'll be greeted by an exclusive audio message from Sophie Adenot, which sets the tone for the experience. Throughout the mission, the exhibition allows you to :
- Find out the position of the ISS in real time, thanks to a position map and a video of the flight over the Earth.
- Watch regularly-updated videos with highlights of the ?psilon mission (spacewalks, scientific experiments led by Sophie Adenot) explained by experts.
- Access key data and video footage of the ground crew, to discover how the mission was prepared and monitored, in collaboration with ESA and CNES.
The exhibition area will evolve in real time as the mission progresses and Sophie Adenot's activities change. You'll also be able to experience all the highlights of the Epsilon mission through live broadcasts, dedicated animations, expert talks and regular exhibition updates.
