SITE D'ESCALADE DE ST-BÉAT-LEZ

A historic cliff in an almost urban area, this is the place to climb marble in a very old quarry that was mined by the Romans. Climbing here is technical and varied.

- Classification: Sports site.

- 50 routes -

- Orientation: South ? Southeast.

- Maximum height: 35m.

The sectors are very different, but many routes are of real interest. From slabs to steep walls with small holds, there's something for everyone.

The Margouilla route (26) has been equipped to climb to the plateau in three pitches.

The cave has been fitted out to enable climbing in case of rain.

The sectors are usable all year round, but in summer it's best to climb after 3 p.m. as it can get very hot before then.
