MOULIN DU MARES
This excursion to the Moulin du Marès, will take you to the heights of Avignonet-Lauragais.
The Moulin du Marès is the only one still visible of the numerous windmills that populated the hills of the Castrum d'Avignonet as early as 1240
This mill was built just after 1790 and stopped turning in the 1930s
It was restored about ten years ago: the roof and the wings are therefore not original.
Adjacent to the mill, the miller's house, now a beautiful dwelling.
The whole is private, visit from the outside.
