LE GÎTE DU PIGEONNIER
Authentic family home in the Lèze valley, 30km south of Toulouse, in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by cows, chickens and quail
Le Gîte du Pigeonnier is first and foremost a family story. Fanny, the owner, inherited the farm from her grandparents. It's the family cradle where she spent her early years. Now a farmer, this lively and very active young woman is renovating part of the building to create a gîte, which she will open in 2023. With a view of the famous pigeon house, from which the owners, in the Middle Ages, used to send pigeons to transmit their messages (hardly slower than social networks...), you'll enjoy the open countryside and the many activities and visits close to this magical place.
Ideally located, you'll be 9km from Muret (Aqualudia, train station, restaurants, shops, seminar room, market and ViaGarona hiking trail) and Saint-Sulpice-sur-Lèze (beautiful village), 11km from Venerque-Le Vernet (canoe rental), 14km from Auterive (Auterive Adventures accrobranches park) and a 30-minute drive from one of France's most beautiful detours: Rieux-Volvestre. You're also at the gateway to the Ariège department: the artist village of Carla-Bayle is 31km away, the Mas d'Azil cave is 43km and Foix is 60km.
