RAMIER DE BIGORRE

On the banks of the Garonne, in Merville, the Ramier de Bigorre invites you to discover the flora and fauna of the river and its essential functions.

This natural area of around 34 hectares - protected by a biotope protection decree - is managed by the "Nature En Occitanie" association. Since 2021, it has been registered with the Haute-Garonne departmental wetlands conservatory. Picking is therefore forbidden, and dogs must be kept on a leash. Le Ramier has a reception pavilion, a bird observatory and interpretation trails. Explanatory panels will guide you through the ecosystem. This river nature discovery area bears witness to the history of this former gravel pit site. We advise you to wear suitable clothing, as the vegetation is dense.
